The Album That Made Canada Famous

The One and Only
Wankers' Guide to Canada

One day, Ignatz Wanker, a Bulgarian man, along with his family, Wanda,
Wankette and Wee Willie, had a concept. This is it: a Musical-Comedy-
Crypto-Light-Rock-Opera and Guide Book Album to Canada.

They called their lawyer. He said write the book first. They did. This
isn't it. This is the Album.

The Wankers' very own album with their friends:

* Martin Short
* Rick Moarnis
* Dave Thomas
* Catherine O'Hara
* Eugene Levy
* The Nylons
* Ian Thomas
* Hummer Sisters
* Earl Cameron
* and, of course, The Wankers' Big Wanker Band.

Looks neat. But I think it might be a challenge for the lyrics of the songs
to live up to the standard of humor reflected in the song titles.

What a find. I look for stuff like that at thrift shops and find
something occasionally (The Count's album or guide to making home
video's) but I'm totally unaware with that release.

Anymore details? Is it post-, pre-, or during SCTV?

Cheers,

Trev

Well it says on the cassette that it's from 1986......so logic would assume
that it is post-SCTV. It is interesting that I haven't ever seen anyone
bring it up on here before though. Dwight Hodge ought to add this to the
SCTV Guide.

I missed that date if it was stated in a previous post. Thanks.

Anyway, I find the varied and large cast participation interesting
considering it is from '86.

Even Rick who after SCTV was on to other things or mostly being a family
guy (and good for him on that - there is nothing wrong with that as his
main priority these days!).

Very interesting indeed.

Were are the mp3s for me to buy? I've been called a wanker. When asked
for an explanation in Britain I was told it was a person of refinement
and taste.

And also really Earl Cameron and not Eugene as Earl? - that is priceless.

I never new the participated in anything together even though Eugene's
Earl was partly based on Cameron (not the boneheaded part).
